Denver Shoot

It's always easy to do a shoot when your model is extremely laid back, not self-conscious, good sense of humor, and willing to try anything.    Such was the case a couple of weeks ago when I did a shoot down by the Southern Pacific Railroad engine maintenance area of Denver.  Besides being able to do a shoot, which I love, I was able to spend the afternoon with a really cool dude, David!  He has an interesting story just like all of us.  He owns his trials and tribulations and he is himself.  Enjoy his story!!

Go on and mosey on over to my Picture Gallery and get his complete story!!

Harlequin Rugby - SemiFinals

It's always tough to lose a game and especially when it is a playoff game.  I do not think I've ever seen a team quite like the Highlands Ranch Harlequins Rugby Football Club.  They fought and fought to win the game, right down to the game ending whistle.  Then, in the atmosphere of defeat, they showed sportsmanship like I've never seen before on any level of sporting competition.  These boys laughed, congratulated each other, hugged each other, and walked off that field like they had won.  They did win, they won my respect and admiration.  The boys went from being in last place a season ago to finishing 3rd in the state this season.  This a huge accomplishment that puts the Harlequins right up there with some of the best!!

Harlequin Rugby Team 2012There is another reason why I am so proud of these boys and that is the Highlands Ranch High School contingent of boys.  The Harlequinn Rugby team is composed of boys from the Douglas County School District who attend Rock Canyon High School, ThunderRidge High School, Mountain Vista High School, and Highlands Ranch High School.  HRHS was well represented and all but three of the boys have been students of mine.

Calvin, Chris, Joe, Troy, Ryan, Levin, Brian, and AlexCongratulations boys - I wish all sporting teams could model themselves after you!!  I enjoyed supporting you and watching your games (still don't know all the rules).  Kudos to your coaches and parents for producing such fine young men!!  You can follow the squad on their website:  www.hrharlequins.com.  The season is over but the boys are losing very few seniors and will be back in the Spring of 2013 as they march towards another successful season.  I will keep you all posted.

Enjoy all the photos of the match in the Picture Gallery!!
